Affiliates

THOR has built a strong network of affiliate organizations that havewith an interest in ocean current energy and in building a significant robust marine renewable energy industry. Our affiliate network includes organizations devoted to technological advancement, resource evaluation, effects analysis, standards development, education and training, and economic growth.

THOR is a member of The Ocean Renewable Energy Coalition (OREC) based in Washington, D.C. OREC is working to raise the profile of marine renewable nergyenergy and increase the amount of federal research & development investment; help implement a regulatory regime based on adaptive management principles; adopt market-based incentives; and, guide the marine spatial planning process now underway at the state and federal levels. THOR is also affiliated with the Marine Technology Society and SEACOOS, the Southeastern Atlantic Coastal Ocean Observation System.
